Lurie Children’s Community Volunteer Corps is a fun, flexible way for volunteers to share important public health messages with Chicago families. Each summer, volunteers can choose from around 15 different festivals and events in neighborhoods across the city -- leading interactive games and sharing health education materials with community members*.
In 2019, we estimate that more than 5,000 kids stopped by our tents and tables, and had fun learning about vital health and safety topics.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Participation requirements include:
Completing an application, telephone interview, and background check
Participating in a kick-off meeting (if your schedule permits)
Completing brief online training
Committing to volunteer with us for at least one event during the summer

Due to limited capacity and continued concerns over health and safety, Community Volunteer Corps 2021 will not be taking external applicants for this summer. Thank you for your interest and we hope you will return in Spring 2022 for news on next year’s Community Volunteer Corps!
