School Fundraising

At Lurie Children's, it's our goal to provide the highest quality care, support patients and their families and discover lifesaving treatments and cures for childhood diseases. As a non-profit medical center, we depend on the generosity of teachers, students and families at schools across the region to help us reach our goals. Hosting a fundraiser at your school is a great way to engage kids and families, teach the importance of giving back and help to support other children who are experiencing a difficult time.

Ways your school can make a difference for Lurie Children's:

READ

Classrooms or schools raise money through hosting a Read-a-Thon for Lurie Children's by encouraging students to read in their free time, log reading minutes and ask their family and friends to pledge a donation amount for every minute of reading. Donations are collected online through our Community Fundraisng program and teachers and students are provided with all the resources they need to make reading and raising money simple, fun and rewarding.

DIY

Our Community Fundraising program provides a range of support to help classrooms, schools or youth-lead organizations create a unique fundraiser that works best for them. From talent shows, coin drives, athletic events and bakes sales – the fundraising ideas are endless when supporting our patients and families.

DANCE

Miracle Network Dance Marathon unites college, university and high school students while raising funds and awareness for their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital. Students involved in dance marathon organizations spend a year gaining leadership, teamwork and nonprofit experience while planning multi-hour dance marathons that make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and families.

GAME

Extra Life is a movement uniting gamers of all sorts – video, mobile, board, outdoor – to fundraise for local children's hospitals. Extra Life Gamers fundraise throughout the year with family, friends and social or online communities and host 24-hour gaming marathons on International Game Day with 100% of proceeds helping to treat sick and injured children regardless of their family's ability to pay.
