Make a Gift to Lurie Children’s through a Financial or Estate Plan

Create a Legacy of Hope and Healing

Estate gifts will shape the pediatric care of tomorrow and impact generations to come. Many Lurie Children’s supporters have chosen to include a gift in their will or through an IRA, Donor-Advised Fund or other beneficiary designation. When you include a gift to Lurie Children’s in your will or through a beneficiary designation, you help fund research to fund cures for pediatric illnesses, build kid-friendly spaces, strengthen local neighborhoods and help families when they need it the most. Your gift will help give every child the promise of a healthier future.

If you have included or are considering including a gift to Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago Foundation through your estate plan, we’d love to hear from you. Life Income Gifts

A charitable gift annuity is a way to support our mission while also providing you with a secure source of fixed payments for life. Charitable gift annuity payment rates are going up effective January 1, 2023. Please contact us for current rate tables, a custom illustration or if we can answer any questions you may have.

If you decide to fund your gift annuity with cash, a significant portion of the annuity payment will be tax-free. You may also make a gift of appreciated securities to fund a gift annuity and avoid a portion of the capital gains tax. Please contact us to inquire about other assets that you might be able to use to fund a charitable gift annuity.

How does a charitable gift annuity work?

  1. When you transfer cash or securities to create a charitable gift annuity at Lurie Children's, you receive a lifetime stream of fixed payments. The remaining value of your gift supports the mission of Lurie Children's.
  2. The fixed payments can be quite high depending on your age, and a portion of each payment may even be tax-free.
  3. You will receive a charitable income tax deduction for the gift portion of the annuity.
  4. You also receive satisfaction, knowing that you will be strengthening the future of pediatric medicine and science at Lurie Children's.
