Since 2001, Kohl's Corporation has committed nearly $13 million to Lurie Children’s through its national philanthropic program, Kohl’s Cares. Most recently, Kohl’s Cares continued its partnership with Lurie Children’s by granting $1.1 million over two years to develop a comprehensive multi-level health and wellness initiative focused on three Chicago communities: Englewood, Rogers Park and Pilsen. The initiative is being implemented by the Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children (CLOCC), a public health outreach program created by Lurie Children’s.
Making a positive impact in the community is engrained in the culture at C.H. Robinson, which has become one of Lurie Children’s most comprehensive partners. C.H. Robinson supports Lurie Children’s year-round through community event sponsorships and teams, programmatic support of family services, and custom in-hospital volunteer opportunities. Most notably, C.H. Robinson employees raise nearly $100,000 annually through fundraising activities within their office as well as support from the C.H. Robinson Foundation. From associates volunteering at events and emerging leaders’ positions on junior boards to leadership involvement on the Foundation’s Board of Directors, every level of C.H. We're grateful to our corporate leaders that help to make advances in care possible. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is one example of a company that has gone above and beyond in their support throughout the COVID-19 situation by providing a $100,000 gift and 5,000 test kits. This donation enabled Lurie Children’s to expand its COVID-19 testing drive-thru sites to better serve kids and families.
Bank of America
In response to the pressing and uncertainties created from the COVID-19 situation, a long-time partner of Lurie Children’s, The Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Inc., gifted Lurie Children’s a $50,000.00 grant to help address Lurie Children’s most pressing needs and priorities which will enable us to continue to focus on what matters most – treating our patients and families.
To help keep patients, families and staff at Lurie Children’s healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, Panda Express donated 80,000 surgical masks to Lurie Children’s. Additionally, local Panda Express restaurants donated more than 100 meals to Lurie Children’s care teams working night shifts.
Speedway helped protect medical professionals on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating 7,000 N95 masks and 3,000 surgical masks to Lurie Children’s to help provide protection when treating the youngest members of the community. The donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) is crucial to preventing the spread of COVID-19 to the Lurie Children’s care team and patients.
Marriott International and its hotel owners and franchisee partners launched the Community Caregiver Program, which provides significantly discounted rates for Lurie Children’s employees who want to book rooms at hotels in close proximity to the hospitals where they’re working.
