The Central Region Thalassemia Collaborative (CRTC) Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO)
Program leadership: Sherif Badawy, MD, MS, MBBCh and Sarah Null, MPH

The Comprehensive Thalassemia Program at Lurie Children’s houses the HRSA-funded Central Region Thalassemia Collaborative (CRTC). The CRTC represents a group of state partners in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Texas working to improve access to evidence-informed care for individuals living with thalassemia and their families. The CRTC utilizes Project ECHO’s model to provide training and mentorship to other healthcare providers in the Central Region of the United States.
The CRTC hosts monthly TeleECHO sessions on topics specific to the care and treatment of thalassemia patients. These sessions are intended for healthcare providers who would like to learn more about caring for thalassemia patients. CME credits are available to those in attendance.
