Pediatric Organ Transplant Volumes & Outcomes

The Siragusa Transplantation Center at Lurie Children’s consistently ranks among the top pediatric transplant centers in the nation on an annual basis, both in volumes and outcomes. The center performed 65 solid organ transplants in 2023, including 23 heart transplants, 16 liver transplants and 26 kidney transplants, making it the leading pediatric transplant center for volume in Illinois, and a leader in the nation.

Our programs remain focused on enhancing the care and outcomes of all patients, providing care to the smallest infants through adolescence and adulthood. The graph below represents the number of transplants performed on all patients by age from January 1988, when the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) began tracking the data, through December 31, 2023. Find more information on transplant volumes on the UNOS site
