Navicular Stress Fracture

An overuse injury of one of the bones in the midfoot, resulting from too much repetitive stress placed on a bone, causing swelling, weakening and cracking.

Os Trigonum Syndrome

When a small bone in the back of the ankle and its tendons are injured, inflamed and painful by repeated pointing of the toes, as in soccer, basketball and dance.

Osgood-Schlatter Disease

Irritation and inflammation of the growth plate at the top of the shin bone, where the patella tendon inserts, commonly occurring in children between 9 and 15.

Panner Disease

A condition affecting the growth plate at the end of the upper arm bone, in which it loses its blood supply and the nearby bone softens and collapses.

Patella Tendonitis

When the tendon connecting the kneecap to the shinbone and the tissues that surround it become irritated and painful from overuse, especially from jumping.

Patellar Dislocation (Kneecap Dislocation)

When the kneecap pops out of its usual place in the groove at the end of the thigh bone, often with sudden onset of pain and swelling.

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (Runner's Knee)

A common knee problem involving pain under and around the kneecap, usually in the soft-tissue supporting structures (patellar ligaments, bursae, and tendons).

Plantar Fasciitis

Inflammation and irritation of the plantar fascia, a band of tough, fibrous tissue that runs from the heel to the ball of the foot, providing support for the arch of the foot.

Repetitive Shoulder Strain Injuries

An injury caused by a task that is done repeatedly, such as prolonged manual wheelchair use, causing pain and injury of the upper extremities, especially the shoulders.

Rotator Cuff Tendinitis

Inflammation or irritation in the tendons of the shoulder joint, rare in children and adolescents.

Salter-Harris I Fracture of the Distal Fibula

A fracture that goes through the plane of the growth plate of the ankle, without injuring the mature bone, the mildest fracture that can occur to a growth plate.
