Attendance Policy
The Division of Rehab Services at Lurie Children’s is committed to you and your child. We want all patients to meet their goals and to make progress. This depends in part on prompt and consistent attendance to therapy.
Attendance Expectations
- Please arrive at least 15 minutes early, to allow time to park and check in so your session can begin on time.
- Caregivers are expected to remain in the building during the child’s session. It is our preference that caregivers participate in the session.
- If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
Missing a Scheduled Appointment
- If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so at least one (1) business day in advance.
- Appointments can be cancelled via text reminder message, MyChart or by calling the department.
- We recognize that missing appointments may be out of your control. However, after three (3) missed appointments within the same Lurie Children’s specialty, services may be discontinued.
- Lurie Children's Cancellation & No Show Policy
Illness
Please do NOT bring your child to therapy if they have:
- Any signs of illness
- A fever
- Contagious condition like chicken pox, hand/foot/mouth disease, strep throat, pink eye or ringworm
- Head lice or scabies
