Pediatric Plastic Surgery Research

Our multidisciplinary team of physician-scientists conducts various research projects to help promote patient care and better educate families. We hope our research efforts will improve treatment for children who need complex plastic and reconstructive surgeries.

Current studies include:

  • Trying to improve healing of facial bones
  • Investigating biologic materials that may substitute for bone in facial reconstruction
  • Evaluating the causes of premature fusion during skull development (craniosynostosis )
  • Controlling hemangiomas
