Payment Policy for Optical Care
Medical bills can be complicated. We want to help you understand your bills, our payment policy and your options.
Before Your Visit
- Contact your insurer directly to understand how your child’s optical medical services will be covered.
- Know that most major medical insurers do not cover routine eye exams.
- If services are not covered, we will ask you to pay for those services on the day of the visit.
- Always bring your current insurance or enrollment card to each visit.
Insurance Coverage
Your insurance coverage determines how you are charged for our care. If the services we provide are not covered by your insurance, we can help you understand your payment options. Ask to speak to a billing coordinator to arrange a private meeting. For your convenience, we accept cash and personal checks or Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
If your insurance is HMO/POS/PPO:
- Your co-payment is collected on the day of service
- We file your insurance claim on your behalf
- You are billed for the balance
If you don't have a co-pay:
- You are not asked to pay on the date of service
- We file your insurance claim on your behalf
If your insurance is indemnity insurance (80% / 20% plan), and your payment is made on the date of service:
- We file your insurance claim on your behalf
- Any reimbursement check goes directly to you
And your payment is not made on the date of service:
- We file your insurance claim on your behalf
