Discharge Nutrition Information

During your child's hospital stay, your family may have spoken with a registered dietitian/clinical nutritionist. At discharge, you will receive discharge instructions, with details about what needs your child will have when you get home.

After your child’s discharge from the hospital, you can contact us if you have questions about your child’s:

  • Diet
  • Growth
  • Nutrition plan after hospitalization

Contact Information

If you have any questions, you can call the dietitian directly or call the division that cared for your child. In many clinical areas, physicians work directly with nutritionists. You can reach the Department of Clinical Nutrition at 312.227.5067.

Call your doctor if your child needs attention immediately, you believe something about your child's nutrition plan needs to be changed or if it is a weekend or holiday.
