Ovotesticular Disorder of Sexual Development

Ovotesticular disorder of sexual development is the rarest of sex development abnormalities, in which both female ovaries and male testicles are present in the child at birth. It is also called ovotesticular DSD, true gonadal intersex, or true hermaphroditism.

External genitalia are usually ambiguous but can be normal male or female as well.

Diagnosis is made using several tests including chromosome and genetic analysis, hormone testing, ultrasound or MRI, and biopsy.
