Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney (MCDK)

Multicystic dysplastic kidney is a malformation of the kidney occurring during fetal development. The result is a kidney consisting of irregular cysts of varying sizes, resembling a bunch of grapes. A kidney with this condition cannot function normally and will usually gradually shrink and disappear within the body.
