Hip Disorders
Disorders of the hip are common and have many causes. They can be congenital (present at birth) and acquired (through illness or injury).
Conditions can vary, from acetabular labral tears, developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), congenital short femur, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease, and slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE).
Symptoms are not always easy to diagnose and may include hip pain, irritability, and difficulty in movement. X-rays, ultrasound, and MRI are necessary for determining causes and beginning timely and effective treatment.
