The Preventive Cardiology Program is committed to improving the health of children at risk for heart disease. We care for children who have cardiac risk factors for heart and vascular disease which may include high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, and a family history of heart attacks and strokes.
Lurie Children’s Pulmonary Hypertension Service cares for children of all ages with pulmonary hypertension, a disease of the very small blood vessels within the lungs, with expertise from Pulmonary Medicine, the Heart Center and Neonatology.
When replacement of the pulmonary valve is recommended, it can be achieved two ways: surgery and catheterization. Lurie Children’s has experts in both areas so all patients can be managed successfully.
