Cherubism

Cherubism is a rare, early childhood condition where the cheeks appear rounded and swollen and is caused by cyst-like growths in the upper and lower jaw. The condition can be mild to severe and may cause vision, breathing, speech and swallowing issues.

It usually continues into puberty, when it slows. The growths are replaced by bone in early adulthood when appearance in many affected individuals becomes more normal.
