Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery External Rotation Program

Welcome to our Student and Physician External Rotation Program in the Division of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital Chicago. We are the children’s hospital of Northwestern University and conveniently located in the heart of Chicago. As an academic medical center, we take pride in training the next generation of healthcare professionals and are committed to providing an exceptional learning experience for rotators, offering exposure to a wide range of congenital open-heart procedures.

Rotators will take on responsibilities tailored to their level of training and within the institution's guidelines. In addition to time in the operating room, rotators will have the opportunity to engage in daily educational sessions and conferences alongside the division of pediatric cardiology, enhancing their knowledge and skills in the field.

If you are interested in rotating with our Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery division, please carefully review the instructions below and then submit your formal rotation request using our Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery Rotation Request Form.
