Adult Congenital Heart Disease

About 1 percent of infants are born with heart defects. About 10 percent of these individuals live a normal life into adulthood without their abnormality being discovered.

Among these defects are atrial septal defect (ASD), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), transposition of the great arteries (TGA) and ventricular septal defect (VSD).

Symptoms include murmurs — especially continuous, clubbing, cyanosis, and right bundle branch block (RBBB).
