After a recent COVID-19 infection, it is safe to wait up to 60-90 days after infection to receive the vaccine.
Yes, COVID-19 vaccine can be given at the same time as other vaccines, including influenza. If you recently received another vaccine, you can receive the COVID-19 vaccine as soon as it is available.
Additional vaccine doses may be required based on your age and medical history:
A third dose is recommended for those age 5 years and older with a compromised immune system 28 days after the second dose
A booster dose is recommended for individuals 5 years and older 5 months after the initial series because the first two doses may lose effectiveness over time in adults
In those who have had stem cell transplant or CAR-T since getting vaccinated, the COVID-19 vaccine series should be repeated at least 3 months after stem cell transplant or CAR-T
