Healthy Communities

Health is more than healthcare.

Lurie Children's mission is to improve the health and well-being of children. To achieve this mission, it is essential that Lurie Children's experts work outside the walls of the hospital in partnership with community leaders and organizations. We have to focus on what creates health for children, including social, economic and environmental issues. This is particularly important in Chicago, where life expectancy at birth varies 17 years depending on your neighborhood. Below is a summary of programs Lurie Children's and its partners are leading to advance health equity and create healthier futures for all children.
