The peer review process is required for all Federal funding opportunities (e.g., NIH, AHRQ, PCORI, DHHS). All investigators/researchers are required to go through the Lurie Children’s Scientific Peer Review process and this requirement applies to all new and competitive renewals and resubmissions.
10 Weeks Prior to Funding Agency Submission Deadline:
The Principal Investigator (PI) will notify the review administrator of their intention to submit a grant for an upcoming submission deadline. The submission of the Scientific Peer Review Request Form will alert the review administrator of your intention to submit and initiate the process of selecting a reviewer.
The current Review Administrator is Kelly Carroll, PhD, Research Navigator, Clinical & Translational Research Program.
We strongly encourage you to recommend possible reviewers and to list reviewers you recommend be excluded due to potential conflicts of interest.
7 Weeks Prior to Funding Agency Submission Deadline:
The PI will submit the following research proposal materials to the review administrator:
Research strategy/research plan
If a resubmission, please include:
Federal reviewer's critiques
Introduction to application/response to reviewer critiques
Multiple PI leadership plan (if applicable)
Career Development plan, for K submissions
3 Weeks Prior to Agency Submission Deadline:
The review administrator will forward the review feedback to the PI and the Division/Department Chair.
