MEDICAID NOTICE: Lurie Children’s continues to serve all patients enrolled in Medicaid. As a safety-net hospital, we will continue providing high-quality care to every child who needs us.

The Joint Commission Notice

The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) conducts an accreditation survey of Lurie Children's on an unannounced basis. The hospital, our clinics, our satellites and our Child Psychiatry care services are all included in the survey process.

The purpose of the survey is to evaluate the organization's compliance with nationally established Joint Commission Standards. These standards and requirements represent a rigorous national consensus on safe and quality patient care, amidst changing healthcare practices and new delivery methods. The survey results are used to determine whether, and the conditions under which, accreditation should be awarded to the organization.

The outcome of our most recent survey can be viewed on the Quality Check website of The Joint Commission.

Our accreditation acknowledges our commitment to our patients and families through the daily work of our dedicated physicians, nurses and staff.

All concerns about the quality or safety of patient care at Lurie Children's are very important to us. We encourage you to contact our Patient Relations department to share your concerns at 312.227.4943. Our Patient Relations staff is committed to addressing any concerns in a timely manner.
