Trauma Resources
Firstly, if you are visiting this page, it is likely you or someone you love has experienced something traumatic. We want to validate that these times come with a plethora of emotions, and we hope these resources can be helpful within your (and others’) journey. Please use what feels helpful, and don’t use what is not helpful to you and your circumstances.
Child Life Specialists are trained in child development, and focus on the emotional safety of patients, siblings, and loved ones. Below you will find resources related to trauma that we hope to be helpful:
- If you are someone who wants to independently browse and navigate websites to find handouts/resources, please utilize the page below and click through the links. It has sites for caregivers, sites with multilingual resources, and a site for patients to navigate as well.
- If you would rather have handouts, here are three separate categories of handouts for you to browse. All are in both English and Spanish.
Further, Lurie Children’s Trauma Treatment Service (TTS) is a multidisciplinary team that works to provide comprehensive, evidence-based, holistic interventions to patients and families who have experienced violence and trauma. This can include, but is not limited to, people who have been direct victims of (or witnessed) homicide, gun violence, interpersonal and domestic violence, sexual violence, robbery, or assault, as well as medical trauma, or accidents. Please visit the website above for more information.
