2020 U.S. Census

The government uses census data to allocate over $1.5 trillion a year for insurance programs, food stamps, school lunches, foster care and many other supportive services for children and their families.

Census day is April 1, 2020. The census can be done online or over the phone, in addition to mailing it back.

What you can do...

  • Be sure to count babies, even if they are still in the hospital on April 1, 2020.
  • Make sure that everyone who lives and sleeps in your home is counted, even if these living arrangements are temporary or someone is only there part of the time.
