Meir has an inoperable brain tumor. When therapies failed to slow the tumor's growth, his family moved from Israel to Chicago to enroll in a clinical trial at Lurie Children's, led by Dr. Jason Fangusaro. It's a molecular therapy that comes in a pill. That means he can avoid radiation therapy and aggressive surgery, and focus on being a kid.
Now, for the first time in three years, his tumor is shrinking.
