Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago has been recognized on Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2022, ranking 9th in the world for Best Specialized Hospitals 2022- Pediatrics. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on September 22nd, 2021 and can currently be viewed on Newsweek’s website.

The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2022 ranking identifies the best hospitals that specialize in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Paediatric & Adolescent Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Pulmonology.

Newsweek and Statista invited more than 40,000 medical experts—including doctors, hospital managers, and health care professionals—to participate in online surveys that allowed them to recommend and assess various hospitals within their respective specializations. The results of the survey were then validated by a global board of renowned medical experts.

“This international recognition from Newsweek reflects the world class care we provide every child,” said Tom Shanley, MD, President & CEO of Lurie Children’s. “We are committed to advancing pediatric medicine and improving outcomes for children through innovative care, research and a strong focus on quality.”

Lurie Children’s is the pediatric training ground for Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Last year, the hospital served more than 220,000 children from 48 states and 49 countries.
