Ribbon Cutting Celebration for Bridges Teen Leadership Board
The Northbrook Outpatient Center and our Foundation teamed up to host a very special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating an extraordinary milestone—the opening of the Bridges Teen Leadership Board Waiting Area at the Lurie Children's Northbrook Outpatient Center.
This achievement commemorates the Bridges Teen Leadership Board (BTLB) reaching $1 million in lifetime fundraising for Lurie Children's. The ceremony included an opportunity for students, parents, and BTLB alumni to hear from Lurie Children’s staff, reveling of the space celebration, and tours of the center. Current board members took the initiative to go even further, by providing an ample supplies of small toys and gift cards to the patients who are waiting in this space if there are ever long wait times.
Over the past 13 years, the board has achieved something truly remarkable, and we are so proud of all the student-led dedication and passion that led us to this very moment.

Founded in 2014, the Bridges Teen Leadership Board (BTLB) was named “Bridges” to reflect its mission of uniting the community in support of patients and families at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. BTLB is a student-led service board operated through the Foundation, bringing together student leaders from various Chicago-area high schools. These students partner with Lurie Children’s to raise funds and awareness through a series of events, culminating in their annual Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is a national year-round philanthropic movement, uniting students in raising critical funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
