Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Ranks in Top Ten of Children’s Hospitals Nationwide According to U.S. News

Chicago, June 26, 2018 - Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is once again ranked in the top 10 nationally by the U.S. News & World Report survey of children’s hospitals. This also is the second year in a row that Lurie Children’s heart program has been ranked #3 in the country.  Other specialties in the top 10 include Urology (#5), and Gastroenterology and GI surgery (#8). 

“We are pleased to be ranked the top children’s hospital in Illinois and the only children’s hospital in Illinois to make the Best Children’s Hospitals Honor Roll for seven years in a row,” said Patrick Magoon, President and CEO of Lurie Children’s.  “We are especially proud to be ranked #3 in Cardiology and Heart Surgery for the second year in a row.  Our outcomes in this area are very competitive with other top hospitals.” 

The U.S. News Best Children’s Hospitals rankings help parents determine where to get the best medical care for their children. The rankings highlight the top 50 U.S. pediatric facilities in 10 specialties, from cancer to urology.

The rankings rely on clinical data and on an annual survey of pediatric specialists. Survival rates, adequacy of nurse staffing, procedure volume and much more can be viewed on http://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/pediatric-rankings. The rankings will be published in the U.S. News “Best Hospitals 2018” guidebook.
