Yael (Yali) Derman, APRN-NP, PNP, Hematology/Oncology, was named to Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago's Ninth Annual 36 Under 36 list! Yali is recognized as one of the young Jewish professionals in Chicago who are making major contributions through their work, and in their free time, in the Jewish community and beyond.

Mark Adler, MD, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, was selected as a member of the inaugural cohort of the National Academy of Distinguished Educators in Pediatrics. This honorary service academy recognizes national experts in pediatric education.

Emilee Lamorena, MSc, RRT, RRT-NPS, respiratory therapy manager, has been named the 2020 American Association for Respiratory Care Neonatal and Pediatric Specialty Practitioner of the Year. This is a prestigious honor awarded to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievement and dedication in their area of expertise.

American Otological Society Leadership Board

Nancy Young, MD, Head, Section of Otology/Neurotology and Medical Director, Audiology & Cochlear Implant Programs, was elected to the leadership board (Council) of the American Otological Society (AOS). Founded in 1868, AOS, the second oldest medical society in America, has an unwavering commitment to research and advancing clinical practice. AOS leads and supports advances in hearing science and their application to medical practice. Dr. Young is the fourth woman to become a member of the AOS Council.

This year’s Chicago Admin Awards recognized several Lurie Children’s staff. Breonda Bradie, Julie Eudeikis, Adrianna Lohnes were named finalists for the awards. Rosalinda Lopez, Executive Assistant, Disease Pathogenesis, was honored with the Administrative Excellence in Healthcare Award and Cynthia Trice-Standley, Senior Administrative Assistant, Clinical and Organizational Development received the Leadership Award.
