JBI Lurie Children’s Pediatric Research Implementation and Synthesis Center
Advancing Pediatric Health Through Evidence-Based Practice
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is dedicated to improving the health and lives of children through research, innovation, and evidence-based care. By integrating the best available evidence into clinical decision-making and systematically translating research into practice, Lurie Children’s ensures that care is effective, compassionate, and transformative for patients and families.
Literature Synthesis & Evidence-Based Healthcare at Lurie Children’s
JBI is an international leader in evidence-based healthcare, advancing a model that integrates evidence synthesis, knowledge transfer, and implementation. As a member of the JBI Collaborative, JBI Lurie Children’s Pediatric Research Implementation and Synthesis Center supports clinicians and researchers to improve patient outcomes, innovate care delivery, and build capacity across healthcare systems. Central to this work is systematically reviewing the research literature, which rigorously summarizes global research and generates reliable recommendations for practice.
Commitment to Pediatric Evidence-Based Practice
At Lurie Children’s, evidence-based practice is fundamental to advancing pediatric health and healthcare. The hospital is committed to exemplary interprofessional clinical practice, structural empowerment, knowledge generation, innovation, and transformational leadership. Through systematic reviews, education, and coaching in JBI methods, Lurie Children’s engages clinicians, researchers, and academic partners to:
- Deliver the highest quality of care and patient-family experiences
- Advance pediatric medicine and science
- Expand access to care for more children
- Strengthen its role as a healthcare employer of choice

gLOCAL Knowledge Exchange
Lurie participates annually in JBI’s global knowledge exchange as part of the gLOCAL – global evidence, local decisions. In 2025, our conference centered the conversation on graduate nursing education and the ways institutional mentorship can support nursing education while simultaneously improving systems-based practice and advancing institutional patient care goals.
