PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for the medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
We are dedicated to providing a superior residency experience to promote the field of pediatric clinical pharmacy. We expect that the resident will leave our residency with the skills necessary to perform at the high standard that employers seek out.
This program typically starts the last Monday of June and ends after 12 months.
The PGY1 resident will complete rotations in the clinical, operational, and administrative areas of the pharmacy enterprise. Mandatory rotations include (typically 4 weeks in duration unless specified as longitudinal):

Residents are required to be graduates of an accredited pharmacy program and eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Illinois. Licensure is required within 90 days of the start of the residency.

An on-site interview is required and travel arrangements are the responsibility of the candidate. The interview day is typically scheduled with one other candidate to maximize efficiency with the interview day.
