Child Life Internship
The Child Life Clinical Internship at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is accredited by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
Pending staff availability, we offer Winter/Spring and Fall internship rotations aligned with ACLP guidelines. Interns rotate through two distinct areas of the hospital—one inpatient and one outpatient setting—with additional shadowing opportunities as available.
Intern schedules follow the rotation supervisor’s schedule and may include weekend and evening hours.
A virtual interview is required as part of the selection process.
Application Requirements
The Child Life Internship Program at Lurie Children’s follows all application, offer, and acceptance timelines established by the ACLP. Please refer to the ACLP website for the most current deadlines and process information.

Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance. All applications are reviewed by the internship committee. Due to our commitment to providing high-quality supervision and education, a limited number of interns are accepted each term.

Applying for a Child Life Internship at Lurie Children’s
You can find our application here. We follow ACLP guidelines and utilize the Common Internship Readiness Application. We use a Microsoft Form link with all the Common App contents along with an additional video submission requirement. These two documents are the only components that will be reviewed. We will not review letters of recommendation, cover letters, or resumes.
