A special feature of this program is that Second Year fellows have ample opportunity to create individualized elective experiences.

Second Year fellows have approximately 1.25 days of elective time per week for 12 months.

Fellows can intensively focus their elective choices in an area of particular interest, or they can perform several electives in a wider range of disciplines. Numerous elective opportunities are available, and fellows are also encouraged to organize new elective opportunities in areas of special interest with program review and approval.

Fellows can return to a First Year clinical service, where they function as a senior fellow on the service. Alternatively, they can choose from a wide array of electives at the hospital. Research and teaching elective experiences are also available.
