Nursing Resuscitation: Upcoming Events

Lurie Children's offers the following nursing resuscitation classes:

Emergency Nurses Association Sponsored Course

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)

The ENPC course teaches registered nurse participants to recognize the ill or injured child and identify significant, yet subtle changes in the less acute child. Additionally, the course covers all aspects of pediatric emergency nursing, including, but not limited to pediatric trauma and pediatric resuscitation. The ultimate goal of the course is to improve the care of the pediatric patient by increasing the knowledge, skill, and confidence of emergency nurses.

This class is for registered nurses. Learn more about the course on the Emergency Nurses Association site.

Neonatal Classes

In conjunction with Northwestern University's Perinatal Center, we offer STABLE.

S.T.A.B.L.E.

The STABLE Program is the most widely distributed and implemented neonatal education program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care of sick infants. Based on a mnemonic to optimize learning, retention and recall of information, S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessments and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support. A seventh module, Quality Improvement stresses the professional responsibility of improving and evaluating care provided to sick infants.

This class is for any healthcare professional who routinely provides care to the neonatal patient.

For more information and to register for S.T.A.B.L.E. courses, please visit the Northwestern Perinatal website.
