Improvement Scholars

Scholars is an interdisciplinary ‘learn by doing’ course that empowers participants to apply basic Quality Improvement science principles to improve functions, outcomes and processes.

This 6-month course is taught by Lurie Children’s faculty and staff in didactic and hands-on methods. The curriculum is structured around the concepts, tools and application each scholar needs to complete an improvement project.

  • In 2022, 85% of participants reported a post-course self-assessment rating of intermediate or higher (≥5/9) in the category of Knowledge of Quality Improvement.
  • We proudly maintain 100% of participants who would recommend the course to their peers.

Whether you are a looking to tackle small or large scale problems, are a formal or informal leader, you will learn the knowledge, skills and tools from experts to become a better problem solver, a better leader and you will leave with a network of lifelong partnerships.

If you are a healthcare professional interested in quality improvement, developing yourself professionally and learning how to solve real world problems with interdisciplinary teams, apply to our Improvement Scholars course.
