APP Council
The Advanced Practice Provider Council (APP Council) at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is a forum to support the ongoing development and progression of Advanced Practice Providers (leader, educator, mentor, clinician, and researcher) at all levels. Part of the shared professional governance structure, APP Council is led by staff APPs. The board of directors consists of Officers (Chair, Co-Chair, Immediate Past Chair), APP leadership liaison, committee chairs, and two APP members at large.
APP Council Committees
Members of the APP Council have a variety of ways to engage with their interests and advance their skills. The APP council has several committees led by staff APPs. These committees provide an opportunity for leadership growth and a way to engage with professional interests.
Health Equity: Fostering Lurie Children’s Strategic Planning CARE framework
Health Policy & Advocacy: Responsible for the dissemination of information regarding pertinent state and federal legislative policies and changes.
PRISM: Supports Professional education, APP Research endeavors, Innovation, Scholarship, and research Mentorship. It provides a forum for APPs to share knowledge and learn.
Professional Advancement Model (PAM): Supports professional advancement and recognizes the accomplishments of APPs while promoting the goals, mission, and vision of Lurie Children’s.
Rewards, Recognition, and Retention: Responsible for rewarding and recognizing Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to inspire greater employee engagement thus fostering an environment of positivity and increased employee retention.
Transition to Practice Fellowship: Responsible for maintaining the APP Transition into Practice mentorship and fellowship program.
