Grateful Hearts (GH) is planning to host its third Heart Transplant Day Retreat at Lurie Children's on July 21, and we are very excited! The event will again offer expert speakers and advice on many issues affecting our patients and families, games and activities for the kids, as well as fellowship and support for the patients and families. There will be no cost for our families to attend the event.
GH is our heart transplant community – pediatric patients who have had a heart transplant and their families. Our mission is to help connect patients, parents, friends, families and providers face-to-face. We want our families to realize that they are not alone, and that there are resources and support to help you on this journey.
We are an all-volunteer organization made up of parents of a child who had a heart transplant, adults who had a heart transplant as a child, and health care professionals working with patients who have had a heart transplant.
This event is open to patients of any age who had a heart transplant as a child, or may be needing a heart transplant in the future. We welcome all family members.
The hospital relies on philanthropic support to fulfill its mission, so if you would like to make a donation, any amount will make a difference! Please keep in mind that no one should feel obligated to make a donation - this event is for all of our families, and private donations are anonymous. All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children's Foundation.
