Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital Chicago’s Fetal Cardiac Workshop: Prenatal Diagnosis and Management of Congenital Heart Defects and Arrhythmia with Optional Hands-On Scanning, is a single day conference that will discuss standard fetal echocardiographic views to assess normal and abnormal fetal cardiac structure, function and rhythm. The talks will be led by Lurie Children's pediatric cardiologists with the expertise in diagnosis and management of congenital heart disease in the fetus. Invited faculty from Rush University and Medical Center, as well as our keynote speaker from Boston Children's Hospital, will add their expertise to our conference.
The optional small-group, hands-on scanning sessions will be led by our senior cardiac sonography team and pediatric cardiologists. Participants will have the opportunity to learn technical tips on image optimization while engaging with faculty.
Interesting cases will be presented simultaneously to the hands-on scanning sessions. The presentations will focus on applying the didactic lectures to real-life clinical scenarios. The interesting cases will emphasize the necessity for accurate diagnosis and understanding when a referral for further assessment is warranted.
See our agenda for detailed information about our presenters and curriculum for the day.
