An Educational Meeting Developed by Sonographers for Sonographers
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago presents the 17th Annual Chicago Sonographer Update: Echocardiographic Assessment of Common Congenital Heart Disease and Coronary Artery Imaging with Optional Hands-on Scanning Workshop. This two-day conference will focus on the assessment and diagnosis of common types of congenital heart defects in the pediatric population. Due to popular demand, a second day has been added which will focus exclusively on coronary artery imaging, assessment and associated pathologies of the coronary arteries. The workshop was designed with the sonographer’s learning experience in mind. Lurie Children’s cardiologists and sonographers will lead the lectures, along with our special guest faculty, Luciana Young, MD, of Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The optional small-group, hands-on scanning sessions will be led by senior cardiac sonographers and will give participants an opportunity to improve their understanding of anatomy and scanning technique for assessing coronary arteries and the pediatric imaging protocol. Space is limited to 30 participants for the scanning workshop.
Interesting cases will be presented simultaneous to the hands-on scanning sessions. The presentations will focus on applying the didactic lectures to real-life clinical scenarios.
