Course Description
The purpose of the Pediatric Rapid Response Teams Educational Module is to provide hospitals with the necessary steps to implement their own pediatric rapid response team. The module will discuss a number of topics including:
- 1-Tier System vs. 2-Tier System
- PRRT Essential Components
- PRRT Activation Examples
- PRRT Implementation
It is our hope that healthcare professionals will utilize these materials to further enhance the care of children in their own institutions.
Course Materials
Obtaining Continuing Education Credit
After reviewing the entire module, click on PublicHealthLearning.com to confirm that you are registered and enrolled in the course.
Follow the online directions to take the Course Quiz/Post Test and fill out the Course Evaluation.
All of the following criteria must be met in order for the learner to receive the continuing education hour(s) awarded to this educational activity:
- Learner's electronic registration or signature on a sign-in sheet to verify participation
- Learner completes the program in its entirety
- Learner achieves at least 80% (8 of 10 questions correct) on the Course Quiz/Post Test
- Learner completes a Course Evaluation at the end of the activity
- After meeting these requirements, a "Mark Course as Complete" link will appear. Click this link. On the resulting screen, click the "Yes" button.
- You will be able to retrieve your Certificate of Completion from the PublicHealthLearning.com website. A copy of your certificate will also be sent to your email address.
Nurses
1 continuing education hour has been approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health Division of Emergency Medical Services and Highway Safety.
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation requires that all nurses shall complete 20 hours of approved continuing education per 2-year license renewal cycle. Site Code approved educational programs through the Illinois Department of Public Health, Division of EMS & Highway Safety can be used toward meeting nursing continuing education hours, provided that the continuing education is in a clinical field relevant to one's nursing practice.

Physicians
1 continuing education hour has been approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health Division of Emergency Medical Services and Highway Safety.
A physician should self claim credit for appropriate AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™ activities and document activity title or description, subject or content area, date(s) of participation and number of credits claimed. Physicians may not claim AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™ for an activity for which the physician has claimed AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Each physician is responsible for claiming and maintaining a record of their AMA PRA Category 2 Credit™. (Source: AMA's The Physician's Recognition Award and Credit System, 2010 revision).
