Children are at increased risk during disasters due to their unique physiologic, anatomic, developmental and cognitive attributes. Illinois EMSC works to provide resources, tools, training and education to those who care for children in the health care and community setting before, during and after a disaster. We strongly encourage and advocate for the inclusion of children in disaster plans, response policies/ protocols, and recovery strategies to ensure their unique needs are met.
This catalog contains a pictorial listing of the pediatric preparedness resources and links to the documents that have been developed and disseminated by Illinois EMSC through funding from the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR).
