About Me
Erika Vucko is an Advanced Practice Provider within the Division of Genetics, Genomics and Metabolism at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and is appointed as Research Assistant Professor faculty at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She co-created the APP-led metabolic follow-up clinic, providing comprehensive care for patients with a range of inborn errors of metabolism and currently serves as the Director of the PKU Clinic Program.
Erika is deeply committed to translational science, recognizing its critical role in bridging the gap between discovery and patient care and ensuring that research advances are effectively brought to the bedside. By integrating translational science into clinical practice, she supports earlier access to innovative therapies, more precise and personalized treatment strategies, and ongoing learning from real-world outcomes. This alignment accelerates the development of impactful interventions and has the potential to meaningfully improve - and in some cases redefine - the natural history of disease.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, Erika is the APP Manager of Consult Services, overseeing APPs across multiple specialties, has held leadership positions within the Illinois Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and currently serves on the board of Clinical Genetics Advanced Practice Providers and Project Alive.
