About

Laura E. Vernon, MD has been a pediatric neurologist at Lurie Children's since 2021. She has a special interest in fetal and neonatal neurology. Her clinical work includes seeing patients in several settings throughout the Lurie Children's and Northwestern medical systems. She is a neurology consultant in the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) at Lurie Children's and Prentice Women's Hospital and provides long-term neurodevelopmental follow-up for NICU graduates in her outpatient clinic. In addition, Dr. Vernon works as a neurology consultant through The Chicago Institute for Fetal Health. She also provides outpatient services for the assessment and management of general neurologic conditions in children at any age. In clinic, Dr. Vernon’s goal is to spend time with patient families to help them fully understand their child’s condition and the evaluations or treatment they may need.
