About Me
Dr. Elizabeth Tranel is a pediatric neuro-hospitalist and Assistant Professor at Lurie Children’s and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her clinical and research interests center on pediatric neurology, including neuroimmune disorders, epilepsy and hospital-based neurological care. Dr. Tranel has led research developing an evidence-based treatment protocol for opsoclonus-myoclonus-ataxia syndrome and has published in journals such as Molecular Genetics and Metabolism Reports and Respiratory Physiology & Neurobiology. She has presented at national and institutional conferences. In addition to her clinical and academic roles, Dr. Tranel is dedicated to mentorship and education, having served as Scheduling Chief for the Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Program and as a mentor for medical students and high school students underrepresented in medicine.
