Laurie Sands is an advanced practice nurse specializing in the treatment and care of children undergoing surgery for a variety of acute and chronic conditions. 

She provides patient care to the outpatient general surgery service with a special focus on patients with chest wall deformity.

She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana University and her master’s of science in nursing degree from the University of California Los Angeles. 

Laurie serves as a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Nurses Association (APSNA) and was the previous secretary of the Board of Directors and is currently the co chair for the Trauma Special Interest Group.
