About Me
Dr. Jesse “Patton” Robinette joined the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2026. As a pediatric orthopaedic and spine surgeon, he specializes in the treatment of complex spinal conditions in children and adolescents.
His clinical and research interests focus on pediatric spine care, with particular expertise in idiopathic scoliosis, complex spinal deformities and motion-preserving strategies. He is experienced in a wide range of advanced surgical techniques, including thoracoscopic surgery, anterior spine surgery, and vertebral body tethering (VBT).
Dr. Robinette earned his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University. He completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics and scoliosis at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas, followed by advanced fellowship training in pediatric spine surgery at Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.
A former quarterback for the Vanderbilt University football program, Dr. Robinette deeply values the role of movement in long-term health and quality of life. This perspective informs his patient-centered approach, working closely with families to develop individualized treatment plans that preserve function and activity.
