About Me
I am a pediatric intensivist who is passionate about caring for critically ill children, their families, and supporting the teams who care for them. To care for children and their families during some of their most vulnerable moments is the greatest honor.
Dr. Rachel Gahagen is a pediatric intensivist at Lurie Children's. After completing her medical training at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis she continued to travel north and now calls Chicago and Lurie Children's home.
Her interests include patient safety, quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and creating systems that make it easier for clinicians to deliver high-quality, equitable care. She enjoys bringing people together to identify problems, test new ideas, and make meaningful improvements in the care we provide.
