About

Alexis B. Olsson, DDS, FACS is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who leads the Lurie Children’s pediatric oral and maxillofacial surgery team. He is also Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and is Director of Resident Training. He lectures nationally and internationally, and has served in leadership roles with a number of professional organizations. He is currently President of the International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.

His surgical interests lie in primary facial trauma; immediate and secondary trauma reconstruction; oncological reconstruction of the maxillofacial region; orthognathic surgery reconstruction of developmental and acquired facial skeletal deformities; obstructive sleep apnea surgery; implant surgery of the oral region for functional rehabilitation; and third molar (or wisdom tooth) surgery.
