About

As a pediatric hepatologist, Dr. Kriegermeier cares for children with transient and chronic liver diseases, as well as those that require liver transplantation. She is very grateful for the opportunity to care for our amazing patients. She enjoys building relationships with patients and families, and working collaboratively to keep children as healthy as they can be so they can thrive in all areas of life.

Her research includes working in a lab studying the underlying pathophysiology of pediatric cholestatic liver diseases using animal models. My research focus is on an area called the unfolded protein response and how this impacts liver cell health during times of cholestasis and other stresses.

Clinically, she care for pediatric patients with liver disease and those that have received liver transplants. Additionally, she is the Hepatology lead for the Single Ventricle Clinic here at Lurie Children's and cares for patients with Fontan physiology who are at risk of developing liver fibrosis.

Clinical Interests

Pediatric liver disease, genetic cholestatic liver diseases, neonatal cholestasis, liver transplantation, Fontan associated liver disease
