Elizabeth Hood is an advanced practice nurse specializing in the care and treatment of children undergoing surgery for a variety of acute and chronic conditions, with a particular focus on feeding disorders requiring gastrostomies.
Ms. Hood is part of Lurie Children’s team of advanced practice nurses, the largest team in Illinois specifically focused on the care and treatment of pediatric patients. She and her colleagues use the latest and most advanced gastrostomy care techniques and specialize in pain minimizing approaches.
In addition to her extensive patient care experience, Ms. Hood is also a senior administrator within the Division of Pediatric Surgery.
A recognized leader in the field, she has served as the National Leadership Chair of the American Pediatric Surgical Nursing Association, and is currently a member of the Nominations Committee.
